Dining Room

Before:Dinning_before

I am not a fan of “dirty” white walls – these walls had not been painted for at least 15 years. The room was only used for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners because no one seemed to want to stay in there for very long. In fact I have noted  that no one spends much time in any of our white rooms.

The Fall look:

Walls have been painted with Behr Swiss Coffee. It is a white ( to keep Bill happy) with a slight brown tint ( to make me happy) that makes the room feel warmer and inviting.

This turned out to be a budget friendly project. I found  the curtains on sell for $5.00 apiece at Walmart, the seat cushions where also on sell for $5.00 apiece and the new tablecloth  .. $5.00.

The Winter look:

I never took a winter look photo but  the table was covered with a red cloth and red flowers in a white vase.

The Spring look :

The spring welcomes fresh flowers and blue waters. I use lots of colors during the spring  most in the form of place mats to protect the white tablecloth.

The white table cloth is covered with a vinyl table cover to make for easy clean up. I do not  put vinyl directly on the wood because I have seen tables that have been ruined by the vinyl sticking to the wood.   I have six of these vinyl toppers (red, white and blue) so it is quick and easy to change the color of the table. Summer meals are usually a little bit messier with fresh fruit and lots of salads the vinyl coverings are a breeze to keep clean.
