Errands and Golf

We have been very busy the  last two days and I have not gotten much done on the home front. Tuesday we were in town most of the day at KBC Apartments mowing grass and other things. We also ended up going to four stores looking for Japanese Beetle traps without any success. It seems someone had gone into each store and brought out their whole supply. One store said they had two coming in on Wednesday which we brought so now they are out again. Those beetles have been super bad this year and are trying to eat my green beans. I did manage to repair all the clothes and things that were in the “fix – me ” pile.

I am not sure why I agreed to get up at 6:30 on Wednesday to go play golf but I did and I had a very good time playing.  I do not play much – in fact the last time I played was in September of last year – a group from church asked us to play and we decided it would be something different to do. The only problem was that I was the only woman to show up – so hopefully more wives will play next time.  There were five of us and we had a nice relaxing  morning with lots of laughter and pleasant conversation.

Ran a few errands and got some lunch before heading home to do some laundry and get it out on the line, make a few phone calls to straighten up some problems (UPS could not find our address so they emailed asking me to call them) and get Shoes outside for a while. Since it was too late in the day to work on any of the projects I decided to relax and read for a while.

Yesterday I drug myself out of bed around 6 in the morning ( it was still dark outside!) to get the animals fed before getting ready to go play at playing golf .Our friends coming from Indianapolis area had to get up around five so I really should not complain but what the heck, I will complained anyways. With that said I have to admit I had lots of fun and it was for a good cause.

I for one have not played golf for over a year in fact  the last time I played was with them on a small 9 hole course. I went into this knowing it was just for fun and that we would most likely come in last place. Only one of our team member plays regularly so we were depending on him to carry us but in the end it turned into a team effort.

The outing had a bit of a rough start with my bag falling over and breaking my putter head off and breaking my ball counter but Bill and I shared his putter and we all kept count of the strokes as a team. I only lost one ball in the tall grass and none of them took baths in the water hazards. The sand traps were hungry today but we managed to conquer their appetite.and avoid most of them.

Yes, we came in last but that didn’t matter because we shared a lot of laughter and had a wonderful time. Is golfing my favorite sport? No, only when played in scramble format and with good friends.

Golf Anyone? yes

I took the day off  just to have some “fun in the sun.” Bill was finished with the drywall machine so we returned it to our friend. He and his wife invited us out to play a round golf .

I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about picking up a golf club since it has been at least 15 years since I have played. We played nine holes on a small course close to their house and the day was perfect for golf.

I only lost one ball on the last hole when it decided to take a bath. Bill lost three balls and I never noticed how many Rick lost but I am sure it was at least three (they also took baths). I kept score  (53), Bill never kept score and Rick never added his up but according to Sheila I kicked their rear ends.

The main thing was that I really enjoyed the game today which is a big switch.  Usually Bill is very serious when he plays which takes all the fun out of the game but today he was very relaxed and happy. I told him if he would play like that all the time I would actually go play more often.

A trip to Indianapolis is not complete without stopping in the see Grandma.  We visited with her for a few hours before heading back home.

I remembered to stop at Pecto to get Shoes her Dental Works for her water.

I usually do not recommend products  but this stuff is great. Two years ago the vet recommended I schedule a dental scraping for Shoes. She was only two at the time but her teeth were brown and covered with tartar even with daily brushing.  A friend told me about Dental Works and I decided to give it a try. The next visit to the vet found her teeth a nice pearly white and no dental scraping was needed. I still brush her teeth once a week and she gets to chew on a dental ball filled with Nutri-Vet Dental Gel every other day. She loves the taste and hopefully her teeth will remain clean.

De – clutter home office desk drawers. I really need  to get some trays to fit inside the drawers to help keep things in place because this is a monthly chore.
